Writing a UK verse with an English rhyme dictionary

A rhyme suggestion needs to survive your own pronunciation. If you write in a non-rhotic accent, an American dictionary may separate sounds you bring together or suggest a pairing you would never say. Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish and English voices also differ; there is no single UK pronunciation setting that can decide the line for you.

The free browser rhyme finder uses American English dictionary pronunciations. Use it to collect possible endings, then record your shortlist over the beat in Cadence. Keep the recording beside the lyric so the performance, rather than the spelling, decides which ending stays.

Try the free English rhyme finder or write rap lyrics over a beat.

Original writing exercise

Make one take before you revise.

Say “car”, “far” and “spa” in your own voice. Note where you pronounce an r and where you do not. Write two original lines using the endings that actually connect for you, record both, then listen without reading. This is an accent check, not a claim that every word rhymes in every UK accent.

Keep the first take, revise the line and record a second version. Compare the two in the context of the song. You can keep writing in Cadence’s connected songwriting workflow.

Does signing in back up all my recordings?

No. Account sync is not a recording backup. Audio stays on your device unless you share it; keep exports of important recordings and finished work.

Does the free web rhyme finder support every language and accent?

No. The free browser finder currently uses American English pronunciations and a limited original phrase bank. Check results aloud in your own accent. The website tool and the Cadence app use different rhyme engines.
